Really great fried chicken! I love going here - the atmosphere is unique - fully open, wooden carousel type setting. All the food is really good and the sides are fairly large. This is my favorite fried chicken in the beach area. My only issues is that the service is generally fairly slow. But, lower slower Delaware wouldn't get its reputation if it were slow!

The only thing that can make this breakfast better is a hangover! This was a deliciously greasy breakfast in the best possible way. Who would have thought that eggs, Mac & cheese, and crispy fried chicken in a burrito could taste so good at 10am?!? Followed by a perfect cinnamon roll? I'm sold. Definitely coming back the morning after my next Dewey bar crawl so I can up this to 5 stars.

Food was good for bar food. The orange crushes were awesome. We got lucky with a good waitress, but one of the bartenders was rude. We paid about $10 on the iTunes player and our songs never came on.

Watermelon float cocktail, vodka based with fresh watermelon, was refreshing and different. Live music was great and staff was friendly. But, the food was not good on our visit. I ordered a side of corn on the cob and it was served within about 5 minutes of ordering, but was luke warm, mushy and lacked flavor. My friend had the "world famous" fried chicken which she reported as dry, the mac and cheese was bland and mushy. She opted for french fries instead of mac and cheese, and they were happy to swap out, but even the fries were dry and tasteless. I mean how do you screw up french fries? Maybe an off night? I kind of got the feeling that all the food we ordered had already been cooked and was just sitting back in the kitchen. When we ordered, the food was served super quick, but all of it was bad, bland, dry, or mushy. They did not charge us for my side of corn or the mac and cheese.

Live music is a plus. Love their fried chicken (crispy, seasoned perfectly). Their sides are just ok. Crabcakes are also just ok. Improve those and you'll get 5 stars.

Day drinking watermelon floats at Jimmy's is my perfect summertime activity. Somehow their watermelon floats, cucumber salad, mac n cheese, live music and great outdoor space never disappoint and epitomize Dewey in my mind. This is the type of joint I dream of running after I stop working for the man. Calgon, take me away to Jimmy's...

I was really craving fried chicken and I saw on their GIANT wall menu that they had it. It was okay. It was not very seasoned. It was just a dash of salt and fried. The fries were soft and not crunchy, kind of soggy. The mac and cheese had NO taste it it whatsoever. It was just like eating flavorless mush... But its Dewey, not fine dining, but still not the best beach food. I would go somewhere else..

This place sucks. Girl Server was rude. Never coming back. Please, everyone, stop going to this place.

Such a bummer of an experience. This used to be my favorite place in Dewey - would come here all the time. This last time on Sunday was awful. I had to track down the waiter for everything and the food itself was terrible. I might go back to give it another chance, but I'm not hopeful.
(2)Jaime T.
Nothing special... Chicken was flavorful but terribly greasy, sides were okay, service was sub-par, and drinks were watered down. The only saving grace to warrant a 2-star review was the location and the live entertainment.
(2)Matt W.
If you could give it zero stars i would. Worst food ever and server was very rude. DO NOT GO HERE
(1)Michelle R.
I had a terrible experience here. The food was disgusting and the staff was very rude. I will never be back.
(1)Kenny G.
Could possibly be the worst service and food I've ever had to pay for. The only enjoyable part was the live music.
(1)Tim B.
Horrible music and horrible drinks. Bad bartender and food looked gross! It could be great because the setup looks great. I just couldn't over the fact that the most simplest vodka drinks were ruined and the 14 yr old girl music that was blaring while people shoved deep fried food in their faces.

I came here with my sister for the $3 Landsharks from 5-7. We split the steamed shrimp and it was good. Bar service was quick and friendly. The open air bar was perfect on a warm breezy day.
(4)Rebecca W.
I'm struggling to give this place a star, because our server was great but the food was awful and we were charged twice and the manager was so aggressive and confrontational I will never set foot again in this place.
(1)Kat D.
Went with a group of friends for some drinks. We all ordered one of their crushes. We had the watermelon, Mango, cherry lemonade, Creamsicle, and Ruby red. They make them all with fresh squeezed juice - none of that sugary fake stuff. While they are $7.50 per drink, it was the best drink I had in Dewey. Our service was quick, the waitress was great, and music was a good mix as well. I will note we didn't eat the food, though!
(5)Julie T.
Never had a bad meal here. The atmosphere is great if its not too crowded. Just wish the had miller light but Budweiser monopolizes the town. We go as a family of 4 with teen kids and the service is always excellent but when I read the bad reviews here I can see they get their share of rowdy customers that clog up tables and don't tip or order well.

Went to Jimmy's at 1pm on a Saturday and had to wait an hour for some fried chicken and burgers. The restaurant was not busy (plenty of empty tables) and we saw people that came in after us getting their food. The manager came over at the waitress' request (we hadn't asked to speak to anyone, but the waitress said she was going to have the manager come over) and was arrogant and rude. The words "I'm sorry" never came out of her mouth- rather it was a series of excuses why we hadn't gotten our food. There are plenty of places in Dewey with friendly management, and going forward, we will be patronizing those places.

If you could give no stars I would! My friend and I stopped in to grab a beer and with 3 people behind the bar we waited 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. The guy asked for ID which is fine but he almost broke it in half. We got 2 landsharks for $12, pretty pricey, then after being ignored again while the 3 people chatted with some servers we got 2 bombs, all red bull in a 2oz plastic ramekin. The guy explained he was "just a bar back" like he's never seen or poured a shot. The girl bartender was terrible with an attitude cause we asked for a proper pour like we were crazy after spending $16 on the two shots. We didn't even drink them cause we did not want a cup of warm red bull...Go to Gary's across the street.. Adam and Jill are awesome!

Three friends and I went here for happy hour, it was advertised on their sign, 5-7. Our waitress was very friendly, but new. We asked the waitress what the specials were for happy hour, she didn't think they had any, but she asked. They had one special. Their Watermelon Crush was $5 instead of $7. One special?? That's not much of a happy hour. And then the drink wasn't very good anyways.

5 Stars. This is a very fun and lively place and I had a wonderful time. The seating is first come, first sit - so you may need to wait until a table clears out. Make sure you're not starving when you arrive. Our server was great. We asked for separate checks, no problem. A few of us ordered the fried chicken that came with 2 sides. The chicken steaming hot, well seasoned and not over greasy, light and crispy. I had a Creamsicle Crush. Yumm! A few others ordered the fried chicken and they cleared their plates. Some ordered the burger, crab cake sandwich, and grilled chicken salad. We were all quite satisfied. Definitely try one of the Crush specialties. But they don't use fresh squeezed juice like some of the other places at the beach. Still absolutely delish!
(5)Jim C.
Overpriced! $27 for chicken tender app and 3 beers. Chicken tender was 5 small pieces of frozen breaded chicken tender similar to what you would get at the supermarkets. Staff seemed less then enthusiastic to be there too. Place looks cool though and is a nice spot if you like to people watch. Can't say much more. Tourist trap.
(1)Dave W.
No draft, limited beer selection, and the beer they have are extremely expensive (coronas are $6.5). Nothing on special, limited food choice and with the choice they have they aren't even that good, there are a lot of better options near Jimmy's that everyone should go to
(1)Michelle Lee H.
This was a pretty simple what you see is what you get kind of place. Simple menu with American food. The food was decent but a little overpriced for certain things. Chicken tenders and garden salad were yummy. It took a little long for such simple things to get to a table of two at a not so crowded time. The waitress was attentive and the outdoor style is perfect for a mild day. Would definitely go back for the atmosphere.

Patron beware: The below reviews are spot on. The customer service at this location is the worst I've ever experienced. The manager is aggressive, arrogant and tremendously rude. Amongst several other failures in service - I (typically a very good tipper) accidently undertipped the waitress due to mathematical error. The manager cornered me, and verbally berated me for about ten minutes infront of my entire party. When I asked what could be done to correct the situation, she continued to rant. I finally ended the conversation, advising it was both counter productive and inappropriate. On the way out, we later gave the waitress a twenty dollar bill, given it was not her fault or issue the manager handled the situation incorrectly.

We just went for an overnight get away. We were hungry and we decide to try Jimmy's grill. OMG! The crab cakes(deep fried and mushy stuff inside) .The fried chic was ok but the mac and cheese was inedible! But thank God the beer was cold! They should get a new cook!!
(1)Al T.
Best to just avoid this place. We were told to sit wherever we wanted because the place was relatively dead. It took 20 min and twice asking to get a waitress. Place sucks. Food is ok at best and service is horrendous.
(1)Joanna T.
Waited an hour and half for ultimately no food and a bad attitude from the manager. Excuses over admitting to simply poor management and not to mention rudeness towards customers. Don't waste your time here.
(1)Ashley H.
Crushes. It's all about the crushes. It's not about the customer service. We were returning for a second visit and as we walked up to the bar at 2:57 and a snarky employee sitting at the bar snapped, "We don't open until 3!" Well, eff you, we'll go somewhere down the street and not come back. But seriously, we were introduced to crushes here and now it's our favorite drink. They have many to choose from and I don't think you could go wrong with any of them.
(3)Gina L.
This is a worst restaurant ever in my life. We went here for crab cakes when we ordered for they ran out of crabcakes, then I ordered chunky chicken salad and it also ran out. How hard is it to make a chicken salad right? Then we ordered a bucket of fries and it came out 2/3 of a cup of fries then our waitress came out said we're low of fries. Don't ever come here. Bad attitude of waitresses.
(1)Marissa B.
For bars in Dewey, this is one of the better ones. My friend and I ordered the watermelon cocktail, which was a tad too strong. We also ordered fries which were great. The waitress didn't seem to mind that we were taking up a table for a while with just drinks and fries. If you are looking for a more relaxed (as opposed to Starboard) location to kill a few hours, this is your place.
(3)Mike M.
We came to this bar/restaurant because it looked like a real chill outdoor bar with a menu ON THE CEILING. Appealing, right? Beautiful day for eating and drinking outside. Only, the host walked away without even saying "follow me", and had to come back for us, and the waitress only thought talking to the men in the group was important. Then we order hot wings, and "chicken mac and cheese nachos" the wings were essentially bones with a sliver of meat attached, and the nachos were piled high with peppers, tomatoes and lettuce to hide the old crusty cheese from sitting on a counter for a good 10 - 15 minutes before being served. This was only known because the kitchen is behind an open fence wall, which probably hasn't been dusted in 6+ months and you can watch the cooks handling your food with no gloves or hairnets. Then to finish it all off, when asking for separate checks the waitress replied "i dont remember what you each ordered, you're going to have to split it yourself". All in all, dont go to the bar unless unless youre already half in the bag. I thought ordering more beer would help and learned the hard way even that was WAY overpriced. I do NOT recommended this "fabulous Jimmy's" for anything other than dinner tables you can write on.

Decent crabcake sandwich, although mine was a little undercooked in the middle. Otherwise, there was a lot of crab meat and it tasted fresh. I tried one of their crushes and it was good. I think I had the creamsicle one. The fries weren't that great and service was only okay. They didn't give us enough utensils, and then it took a long time to get someone's attention.
(3)Jessica F.
Jimmy's was our savior after a disastrous attempt at dinner at the Ivy. Because all of us were still hungry and it was close to our hotel, we headed here for dinner #2. Our food came out quickly which was the most important. I got the crab cake sandwich which was okay but not the best one I have ever had. The building is set up cabana style which means it is open. On the night we ended up here, it was stupid hot out with a high level of humidity. It was more than the single fan in the center could handle. I imagine on any other normal evening this would be just the right spot to get a drink, get some grub and watch the world go by.

Go to Starboards a half block away if you're looking for a fun time. The best thing that this place has going for itself is the sweet gazebo that it is housed under. The food was bland and came out cold. I'd skip the food and just go for the crushes. The crushes were pretty tasty, but why don't they have any beers on tap? I could buy my own six pack of Landshark across the street if I wanted to drink from a bottle for about a fifth of the cost. There's a lot of potential here, but management is just letting it go to waste.

Had an early dinner there and came just in time for their happy hour. I had a caribean crushie to start with and it was good. We ordered the mac and cheese nacho's. Please do not waste your money on this disgusting appetizer. Our server didn't even give us plates for our individual portions. It was tasteless and the chips were almost burnt. For dinner I had the crab cake and fried chicken dinner which was good. I ordered the pretzel salad and the cucumber salad as my sides which were very good. My daughter was pleased her burger. The fries are made fresh. My husband was less than pleased with his fried chicken dinner. I loved the concept of the restaurant from the outside in. It had a beachy feel to it with the breeze. Not a place for kids though. It is a bar afterall. And the staff wasn't jumping at the chance to seat or serve us.
(3)Ricardo T.
Excellent friend chicken, that's for sure. I wish I would have been warned that soft drinks didn't include free refills, perhaps I missed that in the menu. I ended up spending eight bucks just on Pop, which was rather ridiculous but hey serves me right for assuming. They've got a decent menu, albeit small, and service was friendly if a little slow on getting back to us with drinks (a blessing in disguise since I drink Pop like a mad man). I did try their pretzel salad dessert and it was AMAZING. I probably would go back over and over and over again for it. I'll stick to water moving forward, but definitely would return.

We stopped by here for dinner and drinks before heading out for the night in Dewey. We were staying at a hotel down the street and were very pleasantly surprised by the food and service at Jimmy's. Located on the Dewey's main strip, this spot is great for people watching. You feel like you're seated in a gazebo because it's open all around, which is ideal in the summertime. The music is great, the servers are friendly (one even gave us free shots because he was turning 22... bless his young heart), and the crab cake sandwich was yummy.
(4)Dawn N.
Fried chicken was super yum as in other reviews the crushes are great! A smidge pricey, but all things considered, not horrible...I love that it's like being outside, but inside...breezy and able to see the people and cars go by...would eat here again!!
(4)Jason C.
Great place for lunch, start the night off, finishing it off, or stop in while heading to one of the main bars/clubs. The food is killer for comfort food, but definitely not a spot if you're on a diet. Don't make the mistake one of my housemates made, when she asked "if they had a vegetarian meal...." you'll get looked at like you have two heads. Three best menu items, are hands down the Mac and Cheese, the Chicken, and Cucumber Salad. For the glutton option, go with the Chicken Mac and Cheese Nachos, but have an ambulance on stand by because it is what it sounds like; Nachos with all the fixins topped with a ton of Mac and Cheese and Fried Chicken. Staff is always friendly and take care of their guest.
(4)Candace W.
Small menu but what they have they do well. Good burgers, fried chicken, mac and cheese and applesauce. Also good live music
